Data collection at scale

Many identical stations, the same three scripts on every one.

Data collection at scale

The problem

Data teams run dozens of stations and several shifts. They need identical hardware, one procedure for every operator and stations that do not interfere with each other on the network.

How it works

  1. 01Bind each arm to a fixed CAN channel with ARX's udev rules.
  2. 02Give every station its own ROS_DOMAIN_ID so stations do not see each other.
  3. 03Operators use the same 01_collect.sh with spoken "Go" and "Safe" prompts.
  4. 04Train centrally, deploy with 03_inference.sh.

Evidence

Public sources only. All research

  • ARX documents a fixed CAN map for each system (for example left arm can1, right arm can3).
  • ARX's manual shows how to isolate stations with ROS_DOMAIN_ID.
